Key Fob doesn't work

So i bought a VTR from Cool C on the forum, but the keyFob doesn't work.

It came with two as one was a bit worse for wear, i tried putting the chip in the other one but still doesn't work. Could anyone tell me how to get it to work, im pretty certain its not the battery btw!

You sure it aint battery? The keys can just go completely fucked tbh, just stop working all together, mine did it . Take it to a garage/dealer cos they can test them to see if they are sending out a signal or not

have you asked coolc? there may be a knack to it or he may be able to tell you if there knackered

hmm, i will take it to a dealer!

but i asked chris and he said it didn't work since he bought a new one

A dealer can reprogramme your fob to work - mine on my VTR has never worked and my dealer said he can reprogramme it - probably won't be cheap though

Bought a new remote fob including a new circuit? If so that maybe your problem - it still isnt programmed to your car?

edit: LVC beat me to it used to be about £90 to reprogramme it at citroen - should be a bit more now since VAT has gone up.

If you are paying that you are getting bum raped 72+vat at the most, some only charge 42+vat. It might not be that it isnt coded though, as most dealers will tell you it needs coding in when you buy it. They can test it anyway to make sure its sending a signal, if not it could be a fucked fob, or need coding. Lots of things it could be tbh

Done the whole unlocking door then pressing the open button twice within 30 seconds? Replace the battery then try that, also try sitting in the car and putting the fob up near the interior light and pressing it to see if it unlocks the doors. Mines absolutely fine, got a new fob case, board resoldered etc, changed battery but it's something to do with the receiver in the car, gonna get it sorted at some point.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-X...179c07ffe909a7 got this guy to recase/resolder mine (one of the buttons on the board had come off) I offered him about £8 less than he was asking and he accepted the offer, fob was literally like new upon return.
