Take them off mate clean off under the arches then either coat them with underseal or Hammerite.

hello mate , i have purchased used ones , i think this time im going to buy new and buy a full set of clips , i don't really want to take the splash guards out as they do help the inner arches from getting hammered and rusting through in the end , even if it is a crap bit of plastic it's got to help in some way ( i think ) lol

Just a tip mate mud & water gets trapped under these splash guards then corrosion sets in.I removed my rear 1`s & found rust that needed treating up to you though.
