Air filter querie

   Is there any need for this air filter to be there? (the cone circled in yellow) It was on the car when i bought it and not sure if its needed. Could i run a strate through pipe from the front of the car instead of having that there as i think it looks a bit tacky, will i feel any benefits from removing?

   if you went straight through there would be nothing to filter the air. end up with shite in your engine!

   Is there not a filter in the black box just up from that tho?

   oo aye, yeah there will be.
   you could take the black box off and put the filter direct onto the body?

   Yep thats the way, the way its done there looks funny and i would imagine pointless

   lol whys the orginal airbox there then a aftermarket cone filter one,
   as said above would either take the box off and run the cone filter direct, or take cone filter off and buy an uprated panel filter which i think is better tbh

   Yep that was the plan to Buy a panel filter, that cone has been on for at least 2 years as it was on when i bought it, would i need to run a straight through pipe in lace of where that cone is? And does the panel filter fit into that black box? If so is it easy to fit and do you have any recomendations? Ive had a look at the k+n one and its like an oval shape, this ok?
