Why are Saxo's wired up wrongly???

Fitted a new head unit - had to swap the red and yellow wires as Saxo's are "different".

Fitted front LED's to the indicators - had to reverse the wires as Saxo's are "different" and LED's only work with the power in one direction (logic of diodes).

Bought a "standard" replacement flasher relay for LED's (to stop the fast flash) - doesn't work (although I think this might be a dodgy HK part problem rather than Saxo wiring ).

Both my Saxo's are the same as I did wonder whether the battery had been connected the wrong way round at one point ... lol

Is it me or does anyone else find it strange that Saxo wiring seems to be opposite of every other car out there ??

I thought with an LED bulb you just turn it around and connect it the other way....never had to change any wiring on my vts.

Depends upon the bulb: with the 501 sidelight/interior light bulbs yes just turn them around, however the indicator bulbs are offset bayonet fittings and they only go in the holder one way - so you have to reverse the current flow to the holder i.e. cut the wires and connect back the other way round - simples but annoying
