Flashing battery light?

   Hi, having a problem sometimes when i turn off the ignition the battery light flashes and there is a clicking noise? It gradually gets faster and faster then stops and the light goes off? If anyone has any ideas what would be causing this Id appreciate the advice! cheers.

   I thought that but i just got a new one a couple of months ago? Could it maybe have been not fitted properly? Could this be causing the power steering to cut out randomly aswell? thanks

   Clean up the connectors to the alternator and just because its new(not being sarcastic)it could be faulty.

   yeah a faulty alternator can affect your power steering
