Show cage or Roll cage ?

Im looking on ebay at a show cage for the rear only, its the one were you can still have your rear seats in the back. But i dont know if i should just save up abit more and get a true roll cage instead.

Are you going to have any use for a roll cage? if so... a show cage is going to be as much use as chocolate teapot

If it looks though get a show? save yourself some moneys!

This is the thing i want for show but i also need something strong like a roll cage for when i do take it out on tracks and that. As iv got big plans for the car. So this is why im stuck. Should i get a show cage for now. Or should i hold out for a roll cage and not waste my money on a show cage :/

save for full cage but dont expect to use ur rear seats

yeah if you want to use one id save your money and wait! i gather from you wanting a cage and taking it on track? you dont really care about using the rear seats lol

Get a real cage or don't bother.

A show cage is just going to be more unnecessary weight, and anyone with half a clue will know it's fake.

The rear seats and the boot are useless to me already lol so losing the rear seats wont be much of a loss as i have a weight limit in me car anyways. As if i have to much weight in it the wheels start to rub on the back.

We are going to be doing an offer on OMP roll cages this month. Theres a lightweight 19kg one that would be perfect.

show cage if you crash it will cause you more harm then not having one, if its just for looks then ok... but if you going to do it do it properly

show cage if you use your rear seats but seeing as you dont then theres purely no point. just get a half cage/full cage, as you may get laughed at on track with a show cage

Here is the OMP 19kg rollcage for the Citroen Saxo. For a road and trackday car you want a balance between weight and a strong cage and i dont think theres really better on the market rollcage wise. Group A rollcages weigh in at maybe 30kg+

Another is added. This OMP rollcage is the 19kg again but part assembled.

These are now at our special price. We are placing a big order with OMP in about a weeks time so we are pushing a lot of products at bargain prices. Jon will be adding lots of OMP products over the next few days.

Ironically role cages can actually be quite dangerous. Your talking sizeable solid metal object strategically place within inches of your head. You really have to be securely harnessed in to a properly fitted safety seat with a quality helmet for the cage to actually protect you as it should. So it really is worth investing all of this if your looking at doing track work.

no point in a show cage. hence the 'show' in the name!

    Real cage:

Depends, are you going to put the car on a track? If no, then i wouldn't bother.

Is the car running silly power even though it won't be used on track? If no, then again, i probably wouldn't bother.

BUT if YOU want it, then go for it. Why not?! Lol.
Regard's a showcage, again if you want one then go for it. People said it was pretty much the one thing that spoilt my Saxo. But i took it out, to see what i thought and i hated it. So i put it back in. Didn't care if other people thought it spoilt the car. I liked it, so i was keeping it!

This is the cage i have in my 106, its a multipoint weld in cage so unless you can weld very well and are capable of fitting the cage yourself i wouldn't recommend this cage to you.

It'd cost several hundred £ in labour for a bodyshop to fit this cage...and obviously alot more for the unassembled cage.

If your car is the one on your avatar i think a show cage would be more suitable...
