get a multimeter and someone to sit in the car and turn on the washers while you check the plug that goes to the motor see if its getting 12 volts (iirc its 12v) or at least some voltage or a voltage change.

If you get no change then you know theres a broken link between there and the stalks, so just work your way around the car. Check the connection behind the stalk, find the one for the washers and see if theres a voltage coming out. check if there is voltage coming to the fuse in the fuse box.

just work your way around but if there is voltage at the motor then the motor is dud.

    +1 with Jordy.

If not buy yourself a 12v light-up screw driver for testing car electrics - they cost naf all. You can connect the wire end in to one of part of the washer motor plug and the screw driver bit into the other. If you're by yourself you can tie the stalk to the wheel in the "washer jet on position" and see if the screw driver lights up - make sure ignition is on.

When I picked up my VTS the washer pump wasn't working - the previous owner had recently replaced it. Following the procedure above I worked out that power was getting to the plug and after wiggling the plug a bit I eventual figured out that the connection between plug and motor was dodgy - so tightened/bent it and now works a treat.

It's more likley to be something simple like a dodgy connection - especially considering that the washer pump is low down and get's a lot of road crap thrown onto it.

    Good luck
