Car chuggin when i accelerate

  1. #1
    Hi,

Since yesterday my car has been chugging and stuttering when i accelerate. It happened after i had to really wheel spin it to get out of snow :/

From what i've read it's down to either a map sensor or a coolent temp sensor...idk which. Here is a pic of my engine ...plz could someone point out where these sensors are located

Thanks for your help in advance

Coolent temp is the green one in side of head,(main one) it could well be this iv had 2 with same problem, both times were that

And map sensor will be on the front of the ,you see the sqair one with the t/x bolt holding it in? That's the map

    Could be icv aswell

I'd try cleaning everything up first

I had this problem mate. Most people on here said the sensors you have said. I cleaned them and problem still remained. Even had a diagnostics test and nothing showed up. Turned out to be the Fuel Filter.

fuel filter costs about a fiver and is near the passenger rear wheel, only need to disconnect to pipes. my other vts does this problem. not quite sure what it is and i dont want to go pointing fingers and spending loads of money trying to solve the problem

On the throttle body(black plastic part)you`ll see a bolt with a metal vertical piece coming down its to the left of a rubber pipe which goes onto the top of the engine. That bolt is holding the MAP sensor on.

Right coolant temperature sensor see where your battery is theres a large black plastic pipe, now go round to the passenger side of the car.Look underneath this large black plastic pipe you`ll see 2 plastic plugs with wires on them 1 is green the other is blue. Its the green 1 you want(19mm deep socket)to remove it.
