Access to starter motor connections

Can anyone tell me how to get to the starter motor connections easily to check them? I can see it but there seems no easy access. The car wont start when its cold and I suspect a faulty starter motor the causeas its draining a newish battery very quickly. When jump started it fires up straight away .

To get to it really easy i think would be to take the inlet off.

As said you need to either take the inlet manifold off or jack the car up & access it from underneath.

Bit extreme taking the inlet off, it is kind of fidgety put take your airbox off and undo the four bolts i think it is going on to the fly wheel, i have the same problem, its milking my new battery fecking crappy starter!

Thanks Guys for the info; now the weather has 'warmed up' a bit it is not a problem starting; how come??

Remove the airbox off and you should have full access to the starter on the back of the gearbox.

If it starts fine in warm weather, I'd say your battery could be on the way out. Check the voltage with the car not running.

Take air box off you can get to them from the top, take starter motor off for so its loose if you then turn the starter you can get to them, you can also get them from underneath, I changed mine last week
