How do you change the metal door strap?

    Had a search but found nothing.

    Does anyone know how to change the metal strap that stops the door opening too far thats in between the door hindges?

    It looks like a real pain I can do it off the car if necessary as i have a spare door to fit.

    It's not too bad, though you'll need to take your doorcard off

    Then unbolt it from the car side first
    Then unbolt from the door
    You'll then need to twist it round about 90 degrees before it'll come out
    Refit the new one in the same but opposite way

    Thanks for your help. Does it pull out away from the door or does it pull out back through and inside the door

    use wd40 on the bolts attached to the car they can get tight and snap the bolt clean off in the thread

    It pulls away and out of the door, it won't fit inside the door
    When you have it loose you'll see what I mean. Is fiddly but with a wiggle it does come out

    Done this so many times and it's a right bastard so watch out for it! And use a good tx socked not a cheap shitty one that could damage the bolt head or snap off in the head as iv done that aswell!
