reinitializing key fob on mk2 vtr

   Before people say do a search I've done it and I know that when I change the battery in the fob to reinitialise it I need to unlock doors with key then press unlocked twice on fob and it's done.
   But with me this poses a small problem as I have no door locks! I had the idea of being in the car when I lock it then unlocking doors with the door pin inside then changing battery and pressing unlock twice just wanted to know if people think this will work???

   Just give it a try, one way to find out I suppose Should work though. I didnt have to do it when I changed my battery though mate, and ive done a few
