have you tried pressing the red fuel cut off switch, theres a chance you may have caught it
  6. #6
where is this cut off switch???

up by the brake master cylinder

kk.. i'll take a look tomo morn

now there is no compression in the valves.... is there any reason for this apart from bent valves???

sounds more like a crank sensor! Did you check the coil though? Is fuel getting to the head?

yh there is defo fuel gettin there... we checked the fuel pump and tested it with an old battery.... what do u mean by the coil tho?

think he means coil pack mate.

if you have no compression then that will be the issue. Maybe the cambelt is damaged have you looked at it?

simple test is if the fuel pump runs when the engine is turning over - if so it means your crank sensor is sending out at least some kind of signal.

Take the plugs out, are they wet with petrol?

the cam belt is fine.... it sufferd abit of damage from the alternator belt snapping but i changed that today... jus looked up crank sensors but am confused about what they actually sense.... and don;t only diesels have a coil pack to help them start in the cold?

crank sensor picks up the engines position.

You are thinking glow plugs, coilpack creates the spark

okey... there is defo a spark as i took the spark plug out and it was making a spark

have you deff checked cam timing? alternator belts have a nasty habit of getting under cam belts and causing them to jump a few teeth which would explain your lack of compression

thats what happend the alternator belt got into the bottom cam belt sprocket... we changed the cam belt (even tho it was fine) while cleaning the alternator belt off the sprocket... then re-timed it...

so with the timing checked whats the outcome? damage?
