  1. #1
hey guys i have a problem when i came to wire my washer stuff
i bought the battle pump and pipes from a guy on here and they work fine but when i plug my cable into it it doesnt work when i try the switch in the stearing wheel to make it work

i know the pump is good i tested it by putting power direct to it so what is my problem
am i wiring it into the right cable
this is a pik of the cable i plugged in

i dont think its the right cable because i dont think it will even reach to where the bottle mounts but its the only one i can see
    any ideas?
if it is wrong do you know what the cable is for?
    thanks guys

Get someone to operate the washer button, while you put a test light probe on that green plug if power is getting to it the probe will light up.If it doesn`t 1st check the fuses.

Sounds stupid but are you connecting up to the correct connector for the washer pump?

i dont know mate thats why im asking lol
see im not sure that its the right connector
it fits perfect but i dont think its right
basicaly what i wanted to know was is it the right connector and if it isnt what was the connector for that i been using ,
its the only one i can find to be honest mate but i havent jacked it up and removed the bumper for a good look,
because this water system wasnt on to begin with im not sure where it plugs in
the car was bought from chavs that bodged the radiator and removed the washer jet system and also screwed alot of other stuff up with it and ive had to sort

lol, i just posted a pik to see if someone could see the wire and say yeah thats it but as no one replied looks like ill have to have a realy good look in and remove the bumper and jack it up to see if any more wires are there, couldnt see any tho but maybe with the bumper off i can see lol

if the wire your connecting fits then its probably the right one if there are no other ones loose. are the connections clean?? if you have tested the motor test to make sure the switch to turn it on is working as well the switch could possibly be broken. id check for clean connections first and as youve tested the fuse then cancel that out. also test to see if the switch is working. i.e power is getting to the connection you put onto the pump. if not then you need to fault find further back towards the switch and possibly the power to the pump.

The cable should be behind the drivers side inner arch. To get to it remove the driver's side wheel and the plug should be behind there no need to remove the bumper. But from the pic it does look like the right connector. Good luck.

As I said in an earlier post that green plug you need to see if when the wiper switch is used if you have a current at the plug.

ill be getting hold of a tester on monday so will be able to find the fault then,
i know theres no power going to that connector so must be a bad wire or the washer switch on the stick by my steering wheel
