#3It doesn't start, the flashing key comes up onto the dashboard, ignition barrel is in and the black sleeve is on and connected
-
#4Dumb question here, but if my key has come out of the black bit, and i have to fit it back in myself (but it's still loose) will this effect anything?

#5Have you been able to start the car since the 2 bits of the key became seperated / loose ?
I am wandering if the chip has become damaged since metal and plastic part were seperated.
Also sounds like you have changed the ignition barrel ?
If so, the 2 thin wires which are connected to the black ring which goes around the ignition barrel can come loose.
Have you checked these ?
When I changed the ignition barrel on my car, one of the wires had come loose.
Worth a look
p.s. On my car there were three sets of connectors to the ignition barrel.

Never tried as i was stripping the engine at the time, everythings the same, on the same car, i'm going to take out the barrel again and make sure everythings ok, then check my wires in the ecu loom
