I know that! When fitting aftermarket manifolds...

Eg, Kam list a Mk1 (4-2-1) & MK2 (4-1) is the different manifold due to the oil filter and can you fit a 4-2-1 to the Mk2 if you fit the old type filter set up?

Dave on the mk2 saxos you know they have the early 90bhp silvertop and 98bhp silvertop. Well the early mk2 with 90bhp silvertop engine will have the spin on oil filter like on the rallyes its only the later gay 98bhp ones that had the plastice insert rubbish

Only 2001+ 3 plug 8Vs have the revised oil filter and close coupled CAT. The Raceland 4-1, Supersprint 4-2-1 and Piper 4-1 are all direct fit for this engine. However, you can convert to the spin on oil filter and use a Raceland 4-2-1 if you wish - there's a guide with part numbers on this forum.

The black top and earlier single tops all had the spin on oil filter as standard.
