Alarm!!

ive got a 51plate vts and the alarm is just a pain! just keeps going off whenever it wants, usualy early hours of the morning when i cant find my keys to shut it up.
it goes through phase's, itl work fine for months then all of a suddon just keep going off when ever it wants to.

any ideas? thanks

Have you checked any wiring, maybe a poor earth,

That's where id start especially if its intermittent

ive not had a look in to it to be honest, im an electricion (not an auto) and the last thing i want to do after work is start playing with wires. but now ive got an idea what to look for il look into it. cheers!!
haha yeh supose disconnection is the easy option

Mate its a vts alarm they're shite, mine does it ..
Most vts alarms do it, just goes off when it wants,
What you need to do just before locking up turn the key to first click on the ignition, then press the ultrasonic button on your centre console (The button with like a car with sound waves coming out) for approximately 6-7 seconds then turn ignition off and lock as normal with your fob,
The ultrasonic button is designed to turn main sensors off if you want to call it that, but doesnt mean you haven't got an alarm if someone broke in to your vts and tries to hotwire it the alarm will go off and arm the immobiliser, it was just designed so if a cat jumped onto your bonnet in the middle of the night it wouldn't set the alarm off, good system really.
