Clutch has really low biting point

  1. #1
I had a new clutch kit fitted a few months ago and since it's been done, something just isn't right.

The clutch engages almost instantly after lifting my foot (I don't have to lift it far and it's engaged).

I have to press the clutch almost all the way to the floor just to change gear.

I just want some ideas of what it may be.

    Thanks.

Thought that was how your supposed to do it? anyway, you can change the biting point by adjusting the clutch cable (its above the gearbox and next to the battery), think its a 6/7mm nut

I don`t know if saxo`s have self adjusting clutch cables if they don`t i`d suggest returning to where you had the work done & getting the cable adjusted.

10mm and 13mm nuts on the cable where it connects to the gearbox , to adjust the biting point turn the 13mm nut clockwise a few turns and keep checking to see if your happy with where it sits , then dont forget to tighten the 10mm nut up the 13mm nut to stop it loosening off again

Well, I've tried adjusting it, but where it is currently positioned is the only place it doesn't grind when attempting a gear change.

    Sorry, should have mentioned this.
