Noise from rear when starting

When starting my car from cold as i pull away its make a very weird rumbling noise when pulling away it sort of sounds like when you in 5th gear doing 10.... you know as if your about to stall.....
    but coming from the rear.
Very strange cause once the engine is warm it dont do it.
Also might be worth note ing that my handbrake is broken......well when i mean broken i dont actually know what is wrong with it.....one day i pulled it up to far and it pulled up loads works still but goes up pretty much all the way.........

Might be the exhaust rubbing or knocking. It'll do it when it's cold because the car has an auto choke and puts more fuel into the engine then when it's warm the auto choke is turned off. But while it's on your idle revs will be slightly higher thus causing the exhaust to knock

And the handbrake cable is probably just stretched, can get a new one for around £6-10

what can i do about the rubbing then??

See if your exhaust rubbers are in good condition, if they are, see if u can see where its rubbing then just move it

one of the rubbers had split which making ir rub on the bumper.....
me and mate got it on a four poster and had a look at it.........
not long though till the exhaust goes........ quite a bit of rust........so new exhaust coming sooooooon.......
