Can I get brighter bulbs?

   Hello
   
   My eyesight is not great, almost blind in one eye so I struggle to see a little bit in the dark.
   The saxo headlights seem shite but putting full beam on allows me to see perfectly.
   I obviously cant drive with full beam on but are there any replacement headlight bulbs which are brighter than the standard yellowish ones?

   I think I have heard people talk about brighter bulbs on here before. Maybe try searching the forum, i think some are "Phillips"!
   
   You been to opticians? My mum had to get glasses for night driving and they helped a lot!

   Just seen that halfords do 'Super Brilliance' bulbs which they claim are 50% brighter
   £15 each but BOGOF
   Anyone used these?
   
   I use contact lenses but have a lazy eye so my left eye is cant be corrected

   Hid 6/8000 k are really good
   But again Phillips vision bulbs off eBay will do the trick also

    I've got the osram night breakers and personally I think there awful seems like the light doesn't go far enough up the road my standard ones were better
    But my brothers got them in his st and there great !

    I found mine wernt much better than my originals so i bought the rally ones they're brighter but you have to keep your original bulbs for an mot.

    wouldnt mind them 100w ones lol would you not have to upgrade to better wiring and so on? would it not melt the lens ? lol

    more chance of it cooking the wiring than lens..

    I have the Halfords Extreme Brilliance bulbs that are supposed to be up to 90% brighter but personally I find that unless you are using them under full beam conditions the difference is minimal compared to the normal Saxo bulbs.

    Lol I once had some 100w bulbs in my old Rover 200, didn't fry the wiring, didn't melt the lens but it melted the tips of the sidelights and they stopped working

    Can you take them caps off the bulbs?
    I can't see how they help tbh.

    iirc they can be adjusted from the back but i tryed and snapped the black clip off the top

    i found with the night breakers the light was to near the front bumper and not up the road doesnt make sense the standard lights seem better

    Hid conversion bulbs and high wattage bulbs are both not road legal in the UK. There are some good after market legal bulbs that can help a little. The thing you have to understand is that low beams are designed to have minimal glare to other road users so for good reason there is nothing legally you can do to make them significantly brighter.
    
    High beam on the other hand is different. The simplest way to legally go more light with your high beam is to fit a set of driving lamps. Some cars have these as standard such as the 205 GTI. What they are is a second set of E approved high beams. Literally a second set of lights. Its legal and instantly doubles the light output of your car. The only down side is they will make your low beams look even dimmer die when you flick back to them due to the way the human eye works.

    this is what i have. also helps to adjust the lights so that they're lighting up a fair distance but not so that they're dazzling people
    
    got to say though, might just have to lump it. i hate back lanes when theres cars coming the other way, can't see fuck all
