I could rev up to 3000 and it will take alot longer to drop than my mates vtr and my other mates pug 206

This a good or bad thing?

i take it your mates 206 has the same engine? when was the last time it was serviced as if the oils not clean it can be restrictive at times, people say you get the best bhp out of your engine when you service it so i'd say service then see what its like

Could also be something really simple like the needle sticking on the rev counter my old zx`s rev counter was tempermental.

My xsi drops the revs pretty slowly aswell. I was thinking maybe dodgy gearbox speed sensor? They drop the revs slower dependin on what speed you are doing to help with gear changes i think? May be affecting it whilst stationary aswell...?

railroad hit the nail on the head
seen as the weather picked up abit, fitted my angel eyes and hada browse the engine
the little box under the air filter (standard) was loose

and that solved the slower rev down?? surely as long as the filter is fitted securely it will be fine?? id have thought it was the return spring or the throttle cable sticking slighty inside its castingif this fixed it let me know pal as mine does this

i secured my air filter and gave the engine a little look over, it seems as the revs were back to normal for a day or so then went back to normal, dont fancy taking it to a garage for them to hava look because no doubt theyll charge

I have this problem... I fixed it 3 times, ones by changing the TPS, then after a day it started doing it again so I changed the ICV, that fixed it for about 3 hours then it was doing it again so I changed the ECU Temp Sensor... That fixed it again but somestimes it does it, other times it'll be fine... Strange lol.
