you will need a vts engine out of same year, you will need engine, box, ecu,loom/ raditor/fans airbox etc basicaly ful engine,
start the vtr engine and unplug your immabilser whilst car is running to unlock the vtr ecu, then send off the vts ecu to get unlocked i use blue hawk electronics, there is a big clip for engine loom, unplug that and whip out your vtr engine, put vts engine in and plug loom up, you will need the thottle cable off the vts engine aswell which needs running through the car

parts i used when i had vts engine out was
    new clutch
    cam belt kit
    spark plugs
    oil
    fuel filter
    oil filter
    oil

    pretty simple job

Make sure you get all parts from one donor car. Thats my advice. Dont mix and match where posible.

All saxo's have immobilisers. Basics are an engine with inlet, alternator, manifold and top rad hose, rear ecu mount, engine loom and ecu, and a throttle cable. Everything else can be used from the vtr.

My advice would be just buy a Vts and save the hassle.

Waste of time and money imo when you can buy a Vts for cheap these days anyway.

Its dead money converting a Vtr to a Vts.

Can be done for a few hundred quid.

Some people like the project, and the fact they have achieved it and made it what it is.

Also, some people have mint R's with alot of their time & money already in it, so its cheaper for them to convert than to re-do all the work again on another car.

    just finished one.
    we used,
engine and loom. check the round plug in engine bay for size(there are two sizes. one is bigger than the other)
the change over year cars came with both so sometimes its not as easy as getting the same year loom.
idealy you want the fuel lines from the s.
bit more work but not to difficult to swap the complete lines from tank to engine.(we did it) so you have the s return and feed(no fpr by fuel tank)
and definantly want an unlocked ecu.
we didnt take the imobilizer box out in the car and it starts fine with unlocked ecu.

And you might need a return fuel line as well and shafts
