3" Saxsport Exhaust

OK Basically I've decided I'm getting a Saxsport, mainly because of cost.

Now I had a 2" Pugsport on my GTI

I absolutely loved it on my GTI except I don't think the 2" Outwardly rolled tip looks right in the Saxo cutout in the bumper.

I quite like the look of the 3" tip, I'm not bothered if there are any subtle differences in the exhaust note, only if it fills the hole nicely.

Anyone got any good pictures of a 3" Saxsport on their Saxo.

The 3" Saxsport doesnt look right in my opinion :/, you thought about a Supersprint straight through centre section linked up to a Piper 3" outward roll tip?.

I sold my Supersprint, I didn't like how raspy it was. The Saxsport has more of a boomy sound to it although it is a bit raspy.

I had a Piper 3" Outwardly rolled for my VTR.
I bought it when the price of Piper's dropped loads about 2 years ago.

Paid £280 delivered for one new with fitting kit.

Now they want £360!!! Screw that.
I'd rather save the £135 and get a Saxsport.

My opinion is the 2" Outwardly rolled tip doesn't look right in the cutout of a Saxo bumper.

On that link of the 3" on the Two Tone VTS I quite like the 'standard' look.
Definately thinking I'm getting a 3" Saxsport.

Give people the impression I'm running a standard car and exhaust when really it will be a 165bhp throttle bodiedc16v

You hope it's 165bhp.
Piper 2inch ftw leave the cat in to get rid of some of the rasp. You'll need a mid silencer if your wanting to get on track with it.

I like the look of them tbh. For the money you really can't complain.

I see what your saying Aly and if you dont like how the 2" sits thats an end to it. You havnt got much choice then if you want a saxsport you have to have the 3". Your car is far from subtle so I doubt you will fool anyone regardless of the exhaust

I had the one with the centre box mate, even with that it was loud and raspy.
Yeah on a 16v that should be very raspy!
Although the rasp is usually a result of all the baffles blown out the backbox.

If you want a lot of rasp you're better off buying a used Supersprint system.

Well I've given up doing Croft again since theres the 88udb day and the open pitlane days are 95db iirc

Hopefully the setup I'm going for it won't be any louder than 105db to allow me to do other track days, although I fear it will be

I would rather buy Yates BTB system off him. If he wasn't away I'm sure he would be in here encouraging me to buy it lol.

I still have a standard exhaust just encase but my quiet days are out the window. Ek with spoon exhaust is around 105db give or take.
Get the btb if you can.

Yeah but you would say that Steve, everything Honda and it's deep pockets at the ready, Jimbo's brother has been saying this to me for years, said us French car owners should take for granted how cheap modding is.

Well I would buy Yates BTB but I'm sending my bodies off to Colin Satchell this month, that's around £600 including the ITG filter, then I'm buying Yates XSI Quaife box off him. Depending on how much I get paid this Friday (and it should be alot I've hammered the hours) I will buy is BTB too.

Wants me to buy his flocked dash and I might get that too, all depends, I dunno if I can be arsed to remove my dash again lol

Thanks Aly, I have a full Supersprint straight throw exhurst system on it atm, but not to sure what the backbox is i got

if i was to put that 2" backbox on would it be raspy plus would it make any chance to the performance of the car? oh yeah it is a VTS 16V

Yeah mate 2" Supersprint and it will rasp a lot.
Not heard a 2" Supersprint on a VTS yet that didn't rasp.
