I've had my Saxo 1.1 1996 for a month or two now and had no issues, I was driving it the other week and all of a sudden it became very jerky, like it was going out of gear / in the wrong gear, and i took it out of gear and put it back in and it was fine for a few hundred yards then it'd start again, so I pulled over, and it lost all revs and cut out and wouldn't start again, so I left it for 5 minutes and it started again after a couple of attempts, got it going and it was fine for the rest of the day, came home, then the next day it wouldn't start in the morning. I then left it again for 5 mins, tried starting and it was fine for the rest of that day. I didn't use it for a few days and I thought I'd take it to a garage, they took a look and said it could be something to do with the cat and it could have been choking itself or something, they took a proper look at it and found nothing wrong.
Got it back from the garage and left it a few days as I didn't need to use it, went to start it and it wouldn't start at all, even after leaving it.

Just had a mechanic come out to look at it and he said that the spark plugs were fucked, to he replaced them, and it started but not properly, it took a long time, he said it was flooding?
So now he's said it could be the coil and the leads and has said it'd be £116 + VAT for the coil and £18 + VAT for the leads.
Is this a good price and do you think this could be the issue?

He's said I could find one on eBay myself and he'll fit it but I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

    Is it this?

the first thing i would do is find someone with a saxo or 06 similer to yours, take there coil pack and leads off ( only a couple of bolts it is as easy as pie to do ) and try it on yours because it could be a few thing and there is no need to spend money .
