Very weird events in my 1.1..

   So on Wednesday i got in the car, didnt start first time, started it up again and instantly it sounded weird.
   As i pulled of the car was juddering (chugging along .etc.), and it felt like i had a serious lack of power. It felt very bad, i was going to just give up on my journey but i had an exam to get to :/
   
   Anyway after the exam, about 2 hours, i started it up and it was fine! No power loss, but!, it did sound whiny during 2nd and 3rd gear when i put my foot down...
   
   also now, i'm having issues with using a lot of petrol, could be the gauge but im not sure, im just wondering if it could be connected with the above..
   
   ..if anyone has any idea on what could be wrong it would be great! x

   This gets said all the time on here. Best advice is usually check the fuel filter, lambda sensor, icv etc.. There's a few threads about it if you search for them

   check your spark plugs and leads and it could be your coil pack. mine went all chuggery and lack of power, sounded dreadful, it turned out to be my coil pack, easy 2 minute job mate.

   If its a mk1 saxo then check the plug leads as well.

   It's running fine at the moment though so no rush.
