exhaust vibrations

I had my back box and manifold replaced the other day and now its making a right vibration noise off the gearbox, the garage said the clip that attaches the exhaust to the gearbox had corroded off, he said this is a common problem on saxo's but i have never heard of it anywhere on this site
the noise is now starting to get unbareable, i asked if theres anyway to get a new clip and the garage said the only way i can have a new clip is if i buy a new gearbox. isnt there anyway i could weld a bracket somewhere?
    thanks in advance

If its hitting the gearbox you may find that fitting stiffer exhaust mounts will help massively. Most aftermarket manifold manufacturers have got rid of the bracket as it was a failure point.

Hmm, are you sure it's that and not somewhere else?

I've had it vibrating on the back Bumper, and the fuel Tank... Have you check them?

thanks for replys and yeh its hitting the gearbox defo, been under it when mechanic had it up on ramp, and its the standred saxo exhaust system so would this be an M.O.T fail?

Not sure, mine passed hitting all sorts of things lol.

dont think it would fail tbh, but you certainly dont need a new gearbox lol

if it is a mot failure, am sure a couple of stiffer exhaust brackets will do the trick
