radiator

   hi guy's quick question???
   
   will mk1 vtr radiator fit on to a mk1 1.4 westcoast,
   
   as after inspection found brown gunky stuff in the radiator which i think is radweld that someone before me put in as the radiator is kind of mangled looking.

   Yes I think they do,as a side issue I hope its just corrosion/gunk in their & it doesn`t smell of petrol.

   no don't think so,our first thoughts were headgasket but there's no tell tale signs.like mayo under cap or that,pulls well in every gear,done every homemade test for compression in tank,like glove,leave car running for 5-10 mins then take cap off,been short runs and nothing.not losing oil or coolant,also car not overheating in anyway.but that might be down to thermostat not working.when we emptied it there was no rainbow effect on the ground either.
   
   just bought the car in december there and i don't think it's been serviced in a very long time as the oil filter is really rusty and the oil is filthy,so guess what i'm doing on tuesday when i'm off work then???.
   
   yeah so just hoping it's the radiator,would radweld look like that in the tank then?????.

   Hi glad its not your head gasket mate,as for radweld I don`t know what the colour of that is I NEVER use it because it bungs up the heater matrix.
