head gasket change

im changing the head gasket on my 2001 furio tomorrow. 100% it needs changed... i have a mechanical brain, but is there anything i should watch out for or tips.

have a 4-2-1 manifold on it which was a b*****d to fit should i detach it which leaves the 4-2 section on the head or bolt off completely??

    all comments appreciated

Yeah... it might not go to plan and take 8 weeks

Pretty sure you will have to unbolt your 4-2-1 if you intend to keep inlet manifold on.

If its been over heating then get your head skimmed and pressure tested, otherwise you might have to start over from square one.

You will need an angle-gauge for the head bolt torques if you didn't know

Manifold off(exhaust mani)& not being funny buy a Haynes manual all the torque figures & bolt tightening sequence are in there.

You cant see cracks, thats why they have pressure testing.
