#3Hmm, sounds a it like when my Starter was dry, I sprayed WD40 all over it and it's fine now...
Or your alternator belt? -
#5Don't WD40 the belt, tighten it and check it for cracks etc...
But I'd say WD40 the Starter
Try to get it inside it if you can

#6Just had a proper look had someone start the car and i stood outside to check to see where the noise was coming from it seems to be next to the left of the gearbox (i think) would you still recommend what you said?

#7sounds like the starter motor then, oil it if that don't work take it off and put power to it, see if it make the noise when it's off the carQuote:Just had a proper look had someone start the car and i stood outside to check to see where the noise was coming from it seems to be next to the left of the gearbox (i think) would you still recommend what you said?

#9Is that the left looking forwards or sideways, or looking backwards from in front?
-
#10yeap I'll go along with the starter motor. Theres a little whizzy thing on the end of it that engages with the flywheel, it continues to whizz for a moment after starting
-
#11i would say starter motor aswell, as mine does it from time to time sounds exactly the same probs not as loud though.
-
#13just a slipping motor mate, tighten it up or replace it.. sounds worn
-
#14Where is the belt i need to tighten up?, How many bolts are holding the starter motor in places aswell? i can see 2 is there any underneath? Also are all saxo starter motors same of will i need a VTR one?
-
#15alternator belt its tight so cant be that is it worth changing the starter motor?
