I bought a second hand citroen Saxo 1.1 today and put £15 of petrol in it. The fuel gauge won't move and the orange light is on. Can anyone help cos I did'nt get any guarantee with it being under a thousand pounds. Thanks

#2Check you dont have a hole in the petrol tank?
-
#3If by the orange light you mean the engine management light then get hooked up to a diagnostics machine.

#4It has driven me about 6-7 miles, my husband said tap the gauge and see if the needle moves. The orange light on the gauge itself, does this mean it's low on petrol ?
-
#5if you put 15 quid in it then it will go off the light! and the needle will move
-
#6You`ve just put £15 in in petrol so my guess is either a faulty fuel sender unit in the fuel tank or a faulty petrol guage.

#7Would this be an expensive thing to fix please ?
-
#10my fuel guage sticks and stuff i think, is there anyway of fixing it or would i need new dials?

#11Check ur fuses love.. That hapend to me on wensday and it was the fuse that was loose...
-
#12Thanks Sidneysaxo... being new to me where will I find the fuse box
-
#13passenger side, under the glove box
there is a little removable panel, dont worry if u think u will break it by pulling it, it completly comes off the fitting ^^
-
#14make sure when you take each fuse out to check it that you put it back in the right place
-
#15so basically do one at a time then u cant mess up
