Cambelt question

  1. #1
I fitted a new cambelt, timed it up correctly, and i've turned the crank over twice, but when i turn it, every so often there feels like a slip, and it turns over really easy, then goes back to normal.

I've tried taking off the tension slighty and tensioning it slighty more, but it still happens, and ideas? :s And yes the cambelt is on the right way

Are the timing holes still lined up after you have turned it over by hand a few times?

can you be a little more specific, do you mean it gets hard then springs forward a wee bit? it is probibly just when the cams a compressing the valve springs then when you pass max lift the spring pushes the cam round

Sounds like it should do then mate aslong as the holes are still aligned and the belt is tensioned properly. then it should be OK.

Also you may be overcoming the compression of the engine unless you have taken the plugs out already.
