pulley noise?

    one of my pulleys are making a sort of rough rubbing noise, not entirely sure what one but im just wondering how long i have to change it before it goes?

    You cant put a time on how long it will last mate. Find which it is, and change it before it causes a bigger problem for you

    Start your engine open the bonnet & have a listen it could be your drivebelt that is wearing out or not tensioned correctly.

    have done mate... ive fitted new timing belt, fan belt, water pump and a few other bits and bobs about a month ago and all was fine untill sunday night started making a noise from what i think is the crank shaft pulley

    take the belt off and spin the pulleys see if they make the noise if so pulley fucked

    +1 the inside of the pulley wears & doesn`t grip the belt.

    If its the same type of pulley as a 16v its the crank shaft one. It has a rubber part in the middle that acts as a damper, it wears and makes a noise because it sits on the piss. Get a new one before it breaks, it wont last all that long.
