VTS Standard exhaust help!

  1. #1
    Hi People,

my center section on my 2002 vts has been bodged to many times and is blowing like a good un. I was going to replace the centre section but the CAT is off a mk1 vts.

So i would need to buy a mk1 vts center? CORRECT?

However if i wanted to decat the car on the cheap could i just get a MK2 VTR center section that runs from the manifold straight to the backbox?

The manifold is a standard MK2 VTS and so is the backbox.

    what will it sound like?

    any performance gains?

    thanks

    sam

depends on if you have a second lambda sensor after the cat

It should work mate then you can sleeve the sencond lambda.
    Hope this helps

Thanks mate I have got a sleeve on the second lambda already due to the mk1 cat. Will pick it up at the weekend.

Anyone already got this sort of setup? Sound ok?

ran it on my mk1 for a while no difference really as the centre section for a vtr is a smaller bore
    sounds the same

As long as it all fits together that's the main thing.

just wanted to know if it was a bit raspy due to not having the cat in?

the mk1 and mk2 vts exhaust sets ups are exactly the same so you can just buy a mk1 or mk2 vts or mk1 vtr center pipe
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-1...item439dbfad6c

to decat it yea you can just buy a mk2 vtr center pipe
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-1...item1c1419edcf

i have a superprint center pipe from a mk2 vtr on my vts which obv de-cats it, with a standard manifold/1.1 back box and its raspy, but remember the vtr center pipe will have a silencer and the bore is smaller so wouldn't be raspy i wouldn't imagine

you could fit the center pipe from a mk2 1.1 which dont have silencers, so would be like my superspirnt except it'll be a smaller bore,

but if you buy the mk2 vtr/1.1 pipes then these would have holes to screw the second lambda sensor in to which you dont have so unless it came with one you would need a blanking bolt, my supersprint came with with blanking bolt

I do have a 2nd lambda as I've got a mk2 vts. So no blanking plate required!
