Getting the glovebox out?

  1. #1
Is it possible to get the hole glove box out? Not the lid just the box itself?

    Cheers

Open the lid, there should be a few screws behind it around the edge of the hole. Unless they're just for the lid?

Should take photos of this and make a sticky, it'd help people trying to get to the grommit that a power cable goes through to install an amp

Thats easy enough to get to Just reach up/forward under the dash from the footwell. Its a big enough grommit to feel, tis the only soft bit of the firewall lol

I just fitted a glovebox to my vts yesterday, it's an easy job, the only thing I'd add to what's mentioned above is you may need to unscrew & remove the metal bracket and unscrew the multiplug in it to remove the glovebox.

T20 Torx bit in a screwdriver is all that's required.

    Mini guide.

Undo all 5 bolts holding the inner glover box in.

Then you want to get right in the foot well and undo 2 torx

Now you should see a big peice of metal in front of you with lots of wires coming out of it, slide that to either left or right can't remeber...

Now the glove box should be free to wooble around till you can get it out.

I love this, everyone cracks on like it's a piece of piss. It really, in actual fact, isn't. It's easy to locate, but short of breaking your back, is an absolute cunt to work with, it'd be much more comfortable and less time consuming a job with the glove box out.

But then if the glove box is hard to remove because of hidden screws....

its a pain if you can't get to it easily. i ended up nearly sticking a screwdriver through a pipe!

Exactly, anything to make it easier is a bonus!
