bought a OBD2 reader of ebay, just a cheap one its cool though because it can read my 0-60 time and stuff but any way my EML was on so i plugged it in and the result were...

    Stored trouble codes:
    1. p1523 powertrain:throttle closed position performance
    2. p0443 powertrain EVAP.Purge solenoid valve 1

    Pending trouble codes
    1. P0711 powertraing: TFT sensor circuit range/performance

i have no idea what this means ha can anyone help?

A wild guess at this because I haven`t got a list off fault codes here but i`d say Throttle position sensor faulty.

They don't look like Citroen codes to me mate. Clear and read them again if they return (with a different reader preferably)

hi im using http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...:X:AAQ:GB:1123 to read the codes with proscan, saw someone else on this site who uses it. So i just clear the codes and see if they come back?

Yeah, and use something else to read them like DigiMoto

right jst went out and deleted the codes and decided i would go for a drive to test it, as soon as i started moving the eml came on so i read the codes again and it came up with p0443 powertrain EVAP.Purge solenoid valve 1 in the stored codes. what is this valve even for? where is it? what is the difference between stored and pending codes? i would try digimoto but i dont want to pay lol

The EVAP system is to reduce emissions from fuel in the tank.

I don't know how in depth the saxo is with the system, but if it flags up the EML, there is either a leak somewhere or the purge valve is not working.

Check the little white canister clipped onto the fuel tank just by the torsion bar (O/S) first of all - that might be cracked or broken off?
