efficient intercooler (ducting etc), proper inlet as ross said, nice manifold will all make a nice effect on turbo motors.

the run of the mill uprated cams arent really great with boosted setups due to their long duration.
saying that i will be using my ph3 inlet cam and standard exhaust cam on my turbo setup

all depends on power level +boost you want+ -decide that then ,thats a question that can be answered

not a choice I would suggest without knowing power required+ turbo +boost level and main use of car

thats the thing i dont know, i dont want to say max as i just dont no , i like what eva i can get but i still want to drive it with out snapping drive shafts or smashing up gearboxes , boost will be high thow im not running low 6 or 7 as i got better pistons for that reason

Sorry for a bit of a hijack.. but what about a supercharged engine? would you recomend boost cams or something with more duration due to liniar power trends like ph3s or 708s??
  11. #11
its ok hijack its pritty much same question , cram more air in and map to suit lol

Really you hsould have picked what your after before you start getting the parts. For example most uprated pattern clutches dont have a hope in hell of holding the toque you can get out of a turbo TU.

If your after reliability perhaps looking at a stronger diff of traction control would be a better option then a cam. Though a wilder cam would normally move the power up the rev range and let you run less boost for a given output. This tend to work out better for diffs and clutches.

with the kit and turbo your running on high boost you'd probs be better off buying a lsd, your still gonna make very good power, but with just a standard box and shafts on the boost your planning....... youll probs find the boxes failing you pretty quick, im after a diff'd box but monie's are getting tight now lol

i got to uprated shafts there in but never thought about the box tbh . and as you say its all down to money now , least my pred will be here soon and then maybee look at that side of things as id also like to go 406 brembo to but all down to money at mo

standard cams are good for 300bhp so no point changing then really.

im running 708s as they seem to be ok when charging,
have been told that turboing, the 708 inlet is ok but a standard exhaust cam is better,(the turbo catcams inlet is same as 708)
but as said i would look at a diff if possible, as getting that power down will make the car faster, dont just wanna spin up constantly.
