Well been having problems with the starter motor as when i started up the car it used to make a whizz sort of noise. So i took off the starter motor and sprayed wd40 init then it would start without the whizz noise which is good. Now i have another situation as i turn the engine on i can hear the starter motor trying to work sounds like its spinning but nothing else happens what should i do? Is it worth taking it back off and try recconecting it?
Car will not start

#2Any ideas guys is it possible to put the starter motor on wrong?

#3Sounds like the starter isn`t engaging with the flywheel properly possibly because the ring gear on the starter is worn or the flywheel is worn.

#4Might take my starter motor out of my other saxo and give that a go

#5Starter motor solenoid not engaging the the ring gear onto the flywheel so what you can hear is just the motor spinning.
Something like this : NEW SOLENOID FOR CITROEN STARTER MOTOR 12V 3 TERM 3007 (Providing it matches your starter)
... would sort the problem out if you don't have a complete starter/solenoid going spare.

#6I have amother saxo on my drive so going to change it over and that car starts up fine so if still spinning it might be the fly wheel i hope it isnt tho!
