help cant get driveshaft out :S

   Started todo the gf's gearbox only too find i cant get the damn o/s driveshaft out.
   
   Ive done those two lugs and nutts and cant see anything else that would be stopping it coming out.
   
   Tried hammer and drift , rope and pulling (but car is on axles so only so much pull).
   
   any other ideas on how i can shift it ? i know u can wobble the box off with o/s still in but thats an ackward bitch and id only have to get it out to get new one on anyways.

   im sure thats the longer driveshaft.. im sure the longer one has a bracket thats bolted to the block.. unbolt that then try taking it out then

   Sound like you have undone the bearing be its still not budging
   
   hit the bearing casing with a hammer while putting pressure / pulling out the drive shaft and it will slowly come out. took me about 30-50 whacks.

   Did this yesterday myself, pain in the arse!! As said above it was quicker to remove the intermediate bearing carrier from the block then tap the shaft/bearing out of the holder! Hope this helps

   +1 to remove the bearing carrier itself rather than piss about with the bearing and those 2 fiddle nuts.

   haha fair enough had another go at it with the hammer today beat the shit outta everything and no budge lol i was looking at the carrier but it got dark and couldnt really see how many bolts was think i only clocked to but in bastard places. was just going to wiggle box of and beat it out from the others side but ill have a go at that carrier first.

   fork type balljoint splitter behind the bearing usually works for me on tight intermediate bearings.

   i took myn out yesterday it has a bracket just after the second boot undo both them bolts an it sud just slide out

   thats not a bad shout that mate , ill have to buy one tho gay always split my balljoints using a bottle jack n a tappy hammer lol
