Important! : Battery Problem!!

  1. #1
    Hi guys,
The other day the car wouldn't start after a short drive to the shop, so i took key out and tried it again it worked.... and since then the car just wont start but will at random times?!? I would try and start it in the morning and it would be fine, i would try and start it immediately after being turned off but nothing. Sometimes i noticed the clocks reset and radio settings reset as well. i went through eliminating problems and i thought it was the battery because i could always bump start and i could always jump start without a problem. I went down Halfords to buy a new battery. I bought a heavy duty 4 year warranty one which was quite expensive but has not solved any problems!! Can anyone suggest anything for me? Thanks

Sounds like an earthing problem - if it is resetting the clock then the starter motor is probably using all the available power (which is obviously not enough to start the car), draining everything else.

Have a check of all the earthing points are secure and not corroded and also the battery connections are on solidly.
