Important! : Headunit wire!

  1. #1
Headunit has stopped working on taking it out it seems that the remote wire has been cut just before the plastic connector and reconnected with tape there is no room or wire to work with so how do you take the existing end bit of wire from inside the platic connector and put other wire into that connector?
Help much appreciated as car is for sale soon so could do with a working headunit! thanks josh

could prove hard, may have to open unit itself...

The only thing I can think of is buy anew ISO connector that has all the wires intact.

oh sorry i realise what you mean now by plastic bit, so my comment was invalid lol
agree with above though a new connecter may be needed...

Where does the other end actually connect to to remove it?
  6. #6
Would it be possible to remove the connector strip the wires down and just connect them to the headunit itself ie scrap the plastic connector and just connect the wires to the terminals???

    Anybody ever tried this???

I did that on mine, stripped the wires off the iso connector completely then added bullet connectors, was easier and neater doing it that way, will make it easy for the next owner to wire up a HU as well.

iim confused as to whats exactly happened but surely the remote wire being disconnected wouldnt affect the cd player working as it only gives power out of the headunit. By remote wire im assuming you mean the blue wire (usually) from the headunit
