Lowering the car!

  1. #1
As has been said on my progress thread i am absolutely useless when it comes to mods, but having had quite a few days to look at other cars on here i am coming round to the idea of lowering my VTR.

Im keeping the alloys on, but dont worry im having them refurbed!

Can somebody give me some profesional advice as to how far it should go down, and a decent place to buy the gear from.

    Cheers

I've heard it said that if don't want to change your dampers then 40mm should be about as low as you should go

I've not listened to this And lowered mine by 60 mm...only had to replace one of my rear dampers

If your looking for something cheap then for your front springs try eBay

You can't go wrong, depending on how confident you are mechanically

The rear suspension is on torsion bars so this makes lowering the rear a little more of a job than the front end

However there are loads of useful guides and link on the forums

They helped me when I lowered mine

Im a complete novice to be fair, but my mate who is helping me through this painful transition is very competent and has agreed to help me do basically everything!
He even agreed to take the engine apart clean it and re-spray it!
(he didnt i just hope he reads this and gets the message!)
