Help needed asap vtr missfire/splutter

    i have a vtr 1999, out of the blue it started to run weird, started misfirring and hesitating and now is constant. changed plugs, coilpack only year old, all breather pipes are good, i can hear the fuel pump when i lift the seat, i can hear the injectors firing. am thinking its either map sensor or lamda but the bit i dont get is if i hold the rev in no gear at say 2500rpm even tho my foot dosnt move it will drop or go up and down on its own accord making me suspect the throttle pos sensor but if was that then why misfiring and jerking. if anyone has had same prob what did you do to get it sweet again. thanks

    Could be throttle position sensor. If it's a MK2 you should have an OBD port and see if any error codes appear.

    I'd say Coil Pack, or faulty Plugs.

    Try Scanning it.

    searched around and found few saxos with dodgy map sensors, phoned german and swedish to get one. just got the map sensor and it perfect, even the odd slight miss when you stamp on the throttle went only 36 pound glad i didnt buy another coilpack
