horrible whining power steering

   its been like it for a while now but it seems to b getting worse...
   
   i have a horrible whining/grinding noise coming from my power steering.. when i turn the wheel the noise changes.(sometimes better sometimes worse)
   when im stationary the ''best'' i can get the noise is a loud annoying Humming noise.
   
   what i want to know is can it get any worse and/or can it cause any damage when the whining is really bad?
   
   and also is it an expensive and difficult job to fix

   The worst case scenario is the power steering packs up,trust me steering your car you`ll end up with muscles like popeye.

   Its time to be on the look out for a decent or fully reconditioned power steering pump. It will eventually stick and you wont have any power steering at all. To be honest you get used to it, although I doubt a PAS car will pass an MOT without it working.

   well i had my car MOT'd last month n its actual run out date is 2nd of feb so i have a full 12months mot so thats not a worry, but am i lookin at spending a big sum of cash to get it a new/recon?

   My advice would be to pm mandyslover70 & ask if he`s got any 2nd hand low mileage 1`s in stock

   Wait for it..... CITROEN SAXO POWER STEERING PUMP **GEN BOXED**
   
   .. or more realistically you should get a good second hand one from a scrap yard for about £30.

   try get it changed asap mate, this happened to me and my steering completely went whilst driving, ended up on curb on a roundabout, not good!
   
   easy job to change really.
