Views on induction kits

Hey guys may get slated for this 1 haha but i was looking at halfords enclosed induction kits as they are only £69.99 and look simular to the BMC's, has any1 ever used one, are they any good?

And what are piper cross induction kits like? I need to add abit of a grunt to my vtr sounds boring now! But dont wanna brake the bank!!!

i had a chrome thingy from halfruads - think oz had the same - certainly added grunt lol

didnt do much performance wise tho

depends if u want performance or noise really

if you want grunt mate then go for an open filter like the pipercross

imo mate you're best bet would be a forced air induction kit. will probably set you back around 200 sheets but theyre well worth the money. sound loads better than every other dick and harrys pipercross or k&n kit (no offence to anyone with these

). not sure about the halfords kit but i suppose you get what you pay for

yer that is true. Have kinda been in 2 minds ive always gone for open kits because of the sound element but ive never noticed a power loss i must say. At the same time i dnt wanna buy anything just because its cheap.

I do like the look of pipercross kits they are about £80 mind you.

Have a shit max power universal filter sat in garage was gonna fit it to see wot it sounded like for a laugh but it doesnt fit straight onto the inlet because its too big and close to the block.

Go for a green enclosed, noise of an open filter but closed from hot air making it actually useful

why is mk2 so much morte expensive than a mk1!!!!!!

simple guide

open filters will give u noise but nothing for performance

enclosed filters such as BMC and panel filters will give you not much noise comapred to open filters but give you performance gains.

personally i wouldnt go for a halfrauds kit.infact i wouldnt go for anything "performance" wise from there,especially if its £70 quid!

newer model saxo,less parts available atm compared to mk1, therefore got to pay higher price cos less about, good old economics there.lol

Hey Daryl,
Is the the Evosport induction kit? Ok well put it this way, I was given one free a coupla months ago, and on saturday I took it off and chucked it in the bin.
I don't know if its the same with all saxo's, but it didn't fit correctly with my mk1 VTR, and ended up with a hybrid 'evosport' induction kit with parts of the existing system, gaffa taped together! It made an ok noise, but after taking it off I really noticed a better throttle response, and my oil warning light doesn't come on anymore.....hmm...

i dont think it will be real carbon fibre like the bmc

but will be better then an open filter performance wise but wont give as much noise as a open induction kit

think hes on about the ripspeed induction kit

i saw it and its a double of the bmc
cnt see how its much diff but hey its from halfrauds so you never know..
