#2Fuel gauge sender unit... that flappy black part that you will have had to manoeuvre into the tank when you changed the fuel pump. Are you sure you didn't break it when putting it in? As long as you were careful then it may have just become stuck in the middle position. Undo the black pump securing ring, half take the pump mounting out, and have a look to see if the black part moves freely. If it does then it might be faulty and you need another.

#3yeah thats what ive been told bit im sure i put it in careful enough, if its a dodgy pump then thats just my luck. Will have to have good look tomorrow. Thanks for help mate.

#4OK mate... if you still have your old pump and sender (im guessing your pump broke but you kept your sender and plastic mounting??) - you could put the working pump into your original mounting and sender unit. It's abit fiddly but would get the job done

#5yeah ive still got the other, if all else fails i will do that mate thanks a lot

#6sorry to hi-jack the thread but didn't want to start a new thread for a quick question.
But i get 2 really different readings from my fuel gauge when i 1st start the car and whilst driving.
for example say its half way when i start, it seems to drop down to about a quarter, then when i stop for a while then start up again it goes back to middleish. I know it goes up and down whilst driving obviously, but by a quarter? never know which is right. -
#7Sounds similar problem mate.. go back 4 spaces

... but if you don't have a spare you might need to buy one : CITROEN SAXO VTR VTS FUEL PUMP & SENDER UNIT (should fit a furious iirc)
