Random multiple misfires on cold starts.

Was ok on some warm days but has been misfiring on startup all winter doesn't always do it instantly, takes about a second or two to start judering, therefore ruling out starter motor etc. Cant work it out realy. Simple fix is to turn it off and on again in about 8 seconds, then it appears to clear it except the engine management lights still on.

Any suggestions on what to replace/test? Did do it once while i was driving along, but only once. Was thinking maybe crank sensor or temperature sensor?

My money is on dampness. Mine was doing it so I sprayed WD40 on the alternator and all the sensor connections, to disperse any water, it's been fine since.

Older engines used to suffer from this alot.

Well i swapped the coild pack (forgot to say) on a warm day, spraying wd when doing so to stop dampness, would you say this would help? What other sensors etc would do it?

WD40 every sensor/plug you can see and remove especially the multiplug that connects to the coil pack, i took my car to citroen and all they did was spray some WD down where the spark plugs go onto the coil pack apparently its a cache22 subject with it. some agree others dont. i havent had a single miss since.

I always WD40 before I take anything off. 8/10 times it'll fix it

Did they charge you for that?

If your EML is on then get it scanned that way you won`t be paying out for parts you don`t need.
