Not taking the piss, but are you sure it's not the Tappets?

I ask this because people always say they have a knocking noise, but it's not coming from the Tappets, some even say it's the Alternator... But after either I or someone checks the Tappets and puts them to spec, the Tapping goes...

Other than that make sure your Coil Pack is on as if it's not quite down on a plug it'll make a clicking sound as the electric jumps to the plug.

Also make sure the plugs are tight.

Yo, what's involved in putting the tappets to spec?

Coil pack off (So you can get the rocker cover off) Then take the rocker cover off.

Jack one front wheel just off the ground. Then loosen all of the spark plugs so you don't have to work against the compression, most people will say you have to do them in order, but if you're in no rush you don't have to.

I normally do all the inlet first then the Exhaust, it just means you have to turn it over more lol.

Basically you turn the wheel 'til the Tappet you're going to check is fully down, so you can pull it up and down with your hands, then stick the feeler gauge under it, it should slide in with some resistance but not too much.

Much like checking a spark plug gap.

To adjust a Tappet, undo the nut on the top and turn it out or in, then tighten the nut up once it's at the Gap you need.

    Do this for all Tappets.
