Starter Motor.... ?

Done a gearbox and clutch change 3 days ago.. Got everything together and the first turn of the car the starter motor was clunking against the flywheel i thought this was quite normal just to the starter motor realligned itself but eventually it caught and the engine fired up and all seemed well and each turn of the key the starter seemed fine and the car has run no problems.. Now it seems (Only sometimes) when i turn the key it trys to turn the car and you hear like the noise when the battery is dead and that starter sound ? but it catches eventually.. Took all the terminals off and sanded them all.. Battery seems fine as ive checked both alternator and battery with a voltmeter

Will the starter motor be alright.. Never had any problems before hand
    ?
    Cheers

If all your contacts are clean maybe you have a loose earth?
I carnt see it doing major damage to the starter if its only occasionaly doing it.

Should be okay you might have some wear to the starter cog.

Yes its only tempromental mate so hopefully it sorts itself out over a few days or i will just fit a new starter if it becomes any worse

Just tried to start the car and next thing it took to many turns and the battery died! So pissed off with this car. Think the starter motor is dying?
