MOT and driveshafts

Yo gang. I have my MOT coming up and I'm pretty sure there are a couple of things that need attention. One of which is the ABS sensor which are on order and the other is regarding my offside drive shaft.

I noticed, whilst under the car that the CV boot nearest to the wheel had split close to the end of the boot (i.e the bit that 'grabs' on to the shaft itself). So I took a metal hose clip and sealed the boot with that - would this stand up to the requirement of an MOT? or will it be failed simply for the split?

    thanks,

    split boot, will fail.
regardless if been secured or not.

id put some black leccy tape over the split
cant see it, cant fail it.

    bugger.
Right then add driveshafts to the shopping list.
    nice suggestion though

most the testers i know, wouldnt fail it, if its not visable. so tbh, id try it with the tape.
worse they will do is say, sorry mate thats a fail.
    or
    Pass it.

Yep its a fail even if you put 1 of those temporary boots over the split boot.

if your cv boot is split do u have to get new driveshaft or can you just replace the boot?

boots are replaceable but a lot of the time the CV joint has worn due to lack of grease and driveshafts don't cost the earth tbh

will fail mot just replace the boot with a boot kit fella
