wires burnt out!!!

   hey, i was driving along a duel carrage way the other day in my 2001 vts and all electrics went, pulled into the hard shoulder and smoke came out of the bonnet, got it into the garage and wires from the altinator to starter motor has melted and blew apart!!! its getting fixed up by a friend but he would like to no if anyone els has had this problem as he has never came accross it......??? verry strange

   Yes m8 mine did when the alternator was over charging the battery, have a look inside the battery to see if it needs topping up if it has done what mine did.

   this happend to my first vts proper gutted i was needed a full loom but ins wrote it off

   Can hppen to if you`ve got an aftermarket manifold fitted & manifold heatshield not fitted the heat the mani gives off can melt the wires.
