Alternator fitment

Hi guys. Does anybody know if my 01 vtr alternator would fit an 03 vts engine? Ive come across a decent complete engine minus the alternator that peaks my budget. Please tell me it fits!!! Thanks, Jamie.

I've got a alternator in my garage which is doing nothing, its come off a mk1 VTS engine
Not sure if the plugs are different though?

Ok mate. I'm going to look into it a little more. I will come to you first if i need one mate! I found an 03 vts engine with 45k on the clock. unlocked ecu, loom and gearbox for £500. Unsure if i want to spend that much as it will clean me out!

Bit pricey to be honest mate, i bought my second VTS engine, single plug for 150 notes. But the engine you found sounds like it comes with everything needed

It is a bit, but it's very low mileage. The ecu is also un-locked so he says. I'd rather pay the price for a good one than take risks. I'm not aware of all the technical reasons why i have to have certain parts which is another reason buying the complete set would make my life easier.
I dont suppose you know if i can use my origional vtr loom with the vts engines ecu? Exchanging the wiring looms sounds like a major ballache if you ask me!

Nah changing the wiring loom is easy mate Would prefer to use the VTS wiring loom as the VTR one could have a few plugs missing which could be vital

I hope your right! I just asked a lad from stamford and he said il need some extras off the vts loom. Atleast i wont have to source a loom! Im guessing their will be a wiring diagram in a haynes manual. my brother is a bit of an electronics wizard so he better be ready to get his hands dirty!
